Sewing Thread Consumption per Body

Dear All,

Sewing thread consumption is very important for the garments costing. For quick costing we use our previous idea to calculate the sewing thread cost. Please find below an approximate sewing thread consumption list for some common item. This list is based on minimum wastage. So, at first please check your percent of wastage & and try to control it.

    Thanks for your informations. But i would like to know how can we calculate it. Because we have to use different machines like Overlock machine, Flatlock machine, SNLS machines. Can you pls explain it

    Dear Bipul, Pls share with us more about sewing thread consumption, how we can calculate this? pls tell how we can calculate basic garment sweing thread consumption if we dont have any standard calculation or how we can calculate by ourself for any garment.

      Please measure the length of thread at joining

      For Single needle = length X 6
      Overlock 3 = length X 16
      Overlock 5 = length X 25

      All measure with cm and convert to meters. may it helps

    Single needle X 6
    Overlock 3 X 16
    Overlock 5 X 25

    then you can total it all (cm), convert to meters. may it helps..
